Cale product history

1955

This picture shows Carl-Axel Andersson, who founded CALE in 1955. The parking meter next to Carl-Axel Andersson was the first Cale product.

1955

The first Cale parking meter. It accepted 25 cents and allowed a parking hour of up to one hour.

PM 67

1967

The Cale 67 was introduced the same year that Sweden changed to driving to the right. It supported a parking time of up to 12 hours.

1970

The first Cale pay & display machine.
EL 2002

1974

The first electromechanical pay & display terminal from Cale.
PM 77

1977

Cale introduces an advanced mechanical parking meter with a replaceable mechanism. The PM 77 is still in use in many countries.
EPM 4004

1978

Cale introduces microprocessor technique in its electronic parking meters. Cale is first in the world with an electronic parking meter with a single-chip processor.

MP 5005
1978

Cale releases the MP 5005, the first pay & display machine controlled by a microprocessor. The MP 5005 enabled the use of multiple tariffs. It could also be equipped with an intelligent coin verifier and had a modular design for easy maintenance.

MP 6006

1978

The first Cale space number (Memo) pay & display machine.

EPM 7007
1982

The EPM 7007 was the successor to the EPM 4004. It offered the possibility of using several different tariffs in a very flexible way.

MP 10000

1982

This product was connected to a central computer and had a display, a dot-matrix printer and an optinal key reader able to identify each driver. The MP 10000 was used, for instance, used by sugar refineries to write scale receipts over the loads of sugar-beets delivered by trucks.
MP 8008

1984

Cale develops an advanced pay & display machine that accepts both coins and credit cards. PC software that controls the machines and produces statistics is also released.

Cale introduces banknote facilities in the MP 8008.
MP 101

1989

Cale creates the MP 101, with a totally new hardware and software architecture. The MP 101 is used as the basis for developing the next parking machine, the MP 102.

TMA 89
1989

The first back-office program supplied by Cale was a DOS-based application. The parking terminals communicated with a central PC, either via modem or by transferring data via a hand-held terminal. Direct cable connection was another option.

MP 102

1992

Cale releases the modern and multifunctional MP 102, which becomes a huge success.

With the MP 102, Cale introduces support for value cards (smart cards).

TMA for WIN

1992

A new Windows-based back-office program was introduced. The functions were the same as those of the TMA 89 back-office program (see above), but had a nicer user interface and graphical presentation of data.

MP 103 MEMO

1993

The popular space number (Memo) functions are added to the MP 102, resulting in the birth of the MP 103 MEMO.
MP 104

1996

Cale releases the power of the MP 104 with its state-of-the-art architecture, design and payment methods. The back-office software, Argus, released the same year, supports all of the MP 104's functions.

Argus
1996

This was the first back-office application designed by Cale for the administration of Cale terminals within the MP 104 family of products. It featured data transfer via modem or PC cards, updating of customisations (e.g. such as tariffs) and credit card blacklists, monitoring of terminal status, automatic transmission of alarms from terminals via modem, graphical presentation of statistics, and much more.

2002

The powerful MP 104 gets a sleeker design filled with advanced functions.
C-Argus

2002

Cale releases the new and improved back-office system C-Argus with multiuser support and an improved user interface.

Cale WebOffice 1 (CWO 1)
2003

CWO creates a new trend in back office management of payment terminals. CWO is an internet based service that does not require any PC software to be installed. An ordinary web reader is all that is required.

New applications and functions are launched centrally without requiring any customer resources for installation, upgrades, configuration and trouble-shooting.
MP 104 XL

2004

The third generation of Cale banknote reader terminals is released. Now with improved security and banknote acceptance functions.
Cale WebTerminal 2100 - model 2110 

2007

This is a new generation of payment terminal that uses the latest technological advancements in electronics, mechanics, software, data communication, user interface and security. The CaleWeb Terminal offers outstanding capabilities, especially when administrated via the Internet based Cale WebOffice application (see below).

The CWT 2110 model has a greyscale display with a Piezo keyboard.

2007

This CWT 2115 model has a greyscale display with an alphanumeric Piezo keyboard.

Cale WebTerminal 2100, version 2120
2007

This CWT 2120 model has a touch screen with illumination, speakers and microphone.

Cale WebOffice 2 (CWO 2)
2007

The CWO 2 is designed to be combined with the new generation of Cale terminals - Cale WebTerminal.

CWT Compact Classic
2009

The CWT Compact Classic is the modern Cale WebTerminal in the proven MPC housing. You can use CWO 2 functionality with this terminal.

CWT 104
2009

The CWT 104 offers CWT functionality in the proven MP 104 housing. CWT 104 can be used with CWO 2, giving the customer improved functionality.

CWT Compact
2011

This terminal takes the Cale WebTerminal a step further, CWT functionality in a durable, proven MPC housing, with improved user-friendliness thanks to a completely new door design.

Cale WebOffice 2.13
2011

Together with CWT Compact an improved version of the back-office system, CWO, is launched. The new version has new features such as purchase rules. Using this version, it is also possible to use CWO 2 functionality for the traditional MP series.

Cale Enforcement
2014
In order to offer operators a completely integrated parking solution, Cale opened on October 2012 a local development and sales office for enforcement systems in Woerden, the Netherlands. Two years later, the Cale Enforcement system is launched and enables a more efficient enforcement in providing fast scanning of license plates, a quick response from the back-office system and a user friendly interface.
Cale Permit
2014
In 2012, Cale Access acquired Mobiway, later renamed Cale Sundvall, to get the knowledge within digital permits. The introduction of Cale Permit in 2014, a flexible web service that helps to handle all sorts of parking permits, is seen as a further step in the Cale Group’s ongoing strategy to offer complete parking systems.
WayToPark
2014
For a supplier like Cale, it is natural to offer mobile payment as part of a complete digital parking concept. Mobile payment is an integral part of both the end customer experience and the operator’s daily operations, that is why Cale developed the mobile parking app WayToPark in 2014.
 
Like Cale Enforcement and Cale Permit, WayToPark enables a fully integrated parking solution when used alongside Cale WebOffice.
