Card fraud has dramatically decreased in Sweden
New chip card technology has led to a noticeably decreased risk of card skimming and fraud. Cale was early to introduce a system offering increased security in their terminals.

According to the Swedish newspaper DN, card fraud has decreased dramatically in Sweden and skimming is almost completely eliminated. The reason is a change to more secure pay terminals. Card readers have been exchanged and chip cards (above a certain value combined with a PIN-code) are used instead of magnet stripes. It has not yet been possible to copy the information from the chip on the bank card.

End of 2011, Swedish banks exchanged the last readers in their terminals to the more secure model.

Cale has been at the front when it comes to developing new and secure card readers in accordance with EMV regulations for their terminals. Operators throughout Sweden are busy exchanging to this much more secure solution, which fully comply with the regulations set by EMV (Europay, MasterCard, VISA).
